The musician shared onWTF with Marc Maronpodcast that she was initially considered for the role of Marla Singer (the role later went to Helena Bonham Carter) inFight Club. However, Pitt was the one who got her fired due to a significant disagreement. But then he stalked the singer for more than 20 years for another reason.

Brad Pitt Haunted Courtney Love for 2 Decades
In a social media post after the podcast episode, Courtney Love reiterated her claims thatBrad Pittwas responsible for her removal fromFight Club.
By detailing the incident, she emphasized that she has no resentment about it. The musician said that she is not on the podcast“22 years later bitching about losing a part playing someone’s side piece in a movie.”
Love pointed out that the Hollywood star collaborated with Gus Van Sant to acquire the rights for a Kurt Cobain biopic. She wrote (viaThe Hollywood Reporter):
“On the podcast, I recount the day Brad & Gus Van Sant called me from lunch and tried to blackmail me over my role, for the rights to a film about Kurt. I lost my shit on them, and by 7pm, I was fired from Fight Club. Every word of this is factual. This was always a secret that I was fine keeping. It’s a movie. Indeed, I passed on better roles than that. Who cares? The point is Brad kept on stalking me about Kurt.”
The musician then also referenced Angelina Jolie’s physical abuse allegations against theFight Clubstar.

Courtney Love Doesn’t Hold Grudges Against Brad Pitt
Courtney Love said that she told the story because she felt Pitt would not stop pursuing her for the rights of Kurt Cobain biopic – unless the singer said it in public.
Love emphasized that she didn’t want him to be pissed off at her. The singer even wished him well, truly. The San Francisco native asserted that she enjoyed him as a movie star immensely but“not so much as a biopic producer.”
She also claimed that Pitt approached her again in 2020 for a potential project, but their feud escalated when she declined once again. Love highlighted Pitt’s alleged problematic behavior, underlining the consistent abuse allegations made by Jolie. Despite all the social media attention, Pitt did not respond to theCelebrity Skinsinger’s statements.
