Apple TV’sGhostedis a recent romantic-comedy movie that features quite an interesting concept. The movie follows Cole Turner, fallings head over heels for Sadie Rhodes after only one date together only to later find out that she is a secret agent. Quickly, Cole’s life is on the line and what starts as a cute Hallmark movie, turns into an action-packed flick.
Though the movie hasn’t done all too well with the critics, it does feature quite a star-studded cast. The two main characters are played by Chris Evans and Ana De Armas respectfully. The villain is played by Adrien Brody who is also well known for his role inPeaky Blinders. With such a star-studded cast and a production budget of $41 million, one would expect the actors to also be paid the big bucks, but that only seems to be the case for one of the cast members.

Chris Evans Being Paid More Than Ana de Armas inGhosted
Chris Evansis a massive name in the film industry. He is Captain America himself, having starred in so many Marvel Studio projects,The Captain Americatrilogy,The Avengersmovies, andSpider-Man: Homecomingto name a few. He is one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood and this cannot just be credited to his Marvel character. He stars in significant projects outside of the MCU likeKnives Out, the Apple TV seriesDefending Jacob,andLightyear.
Evans does not only act inGhosted, he is also credited as a producer. Needless to say, it is expected that he would be paid handsomely for this role. What is however unexpected, is the massive difference in the salaries of the two protagonists. While Evans was paid $10 million for his role as Cole whereasAna de Armasas Sadie was only paid $2 million.

The gender pay gap is the massive difference in the number of money men and women are paid for the same job. This is not a new concept in the film industry. On average, women earn about $1.1 million less than their male co-stars.
Ana de Armas is fairly early in her career, growing and establishing herself as an exceptional actress. While it is understandable that De Armas is paid lesser than Evans due to where they stand in their careers, however, Her getting paid five times lesser than Evans is quite concerning.
