During ComicCon 2023, Warner Bros. decided to present the first official trailer ofAquaman and The Lost Kingdomexclusively to the attendees at the festival. According to reports from the festival Jason Momoa will be reprising his role of Aquaman, and during the trailer, attendees learned that the King of the Seven Seas will be facing Black Manta in the upcoming sequel.

However, that was not surprising because, in the exclusive trailer, guests saw that theLondon Fieldsactress made a brief appearance as Mera. This came as a shock because her role in the sequel came into question during her high-profile defamation trial with Johnny Depp. While it was reported by a reliable scooper stated that in the film every scene withAmber Heard’sMera will be deleted after the actress had a meeting with Warner Bros. higher-ups.

On Tuesday, prior to the release of the trailer, Deadline reported that the3 Days to Killactress will be in the movie, and she will have a cameo during a battle scene. And it looks like Warner Bros. has decided to kill Heard’s screen time in the film but they could not take the role of Mera from her.

The trailer for the sequel started with Dr. Stephen Shin and Black Manta attacking the surface world with some tentacles that destroyed a vessel, and Black Manta was possessing a powerful Black Trident. The trailer gave a quick view of Nicole Kidman reprising her role as Atlanna, and Aquaman was seen pondering about him being the new ruler of Atlantis, he expressed his apprehension to his father, saying,“I’m supposed to be a king. To bring the land and sea together. But now, I feel the tide shifting.”

Aquaman decides to stop Black Manta and he has decided to work with his step-brother Orm. Their relationship in the trailer was goofy as Orm declared,“No one hits my brother but me!”Yet, the estranged half-brother was supportive of Aquaman, as he said“If you lead, Atlantis will follow.”The scene changes where one would see zombies, a tropical jungle, the freezing Arctic, and a massive battle taking place on land and sea preparing the scale and what the DC fans can expect from the sequel. The trailer also featured Amber Heard as Mera, where she was shown going head to head against Black Manta.
