Adam Sandler Never Got To Work With Martin Scorsese For An Unfortunate Reason
Adam Sandler has worked with many big names in the world of Hollywood, but Martin Scorsese is not one of them, which fans find shocking. However, there was a time he almost got to work with the legendary director but it never came to fruition.
According toVulture, Martin Scorsese embarked on the development of a biopic centered around the legendary Rat Pack, with a particular focus on Dean Martin. The project, titledDino, had Nicholas Pileggi, Scorsese’s frequent collaborator and the screenwriter behindGoodFellasandCasino, working on the script. It was evident that his plan was to bring the Rat Pack to life on the big screen, with Tom Hanks on his radar for the role of Dean Martin.

Variety reported an all-star lineup in consideration, featuring John Travolta as Frank Sinatra, Hugh Grant as Peter Lawford, Adam Sandler as Joey Bishop, and Jim Carrey as Jerry Lewis. While Hanks and Travolta were interested. Unfortunately, the whole project faced a setback when Scorsese secured a deal to directGangs of New York. This commitment led toDinotaking a backseat, with plans to revisit the Rat Pack biopic after completingGangs of New York.
However, production delays persisted, and Scorsese’s attention shifted to other projects. Notably, he returned to Rat Pack territory but with a focus on a Sinatra-centric biopic, planning to cast Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro as older versions of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, respectively. This change in plans more or less confirmed that the director had no plans on using Tom Hanks and Adam Sandler for the project. Regardless, Adam Sandler has since moved on from this whole project and that’s what matters.
