Five Nights at Freddy’shas become a huge hit grossing an impressive $80 million at the domestic box office and $132 million globally in its first weekend of release and director Emma Tammi got audiences’ praise.

Now, the filmmaker gives a hint at a possible sequel to the movie.Five Nights at Freddy’sis ranked as the best ever for Universal and Peacock’s hybrid releases surpassing the slasher sequels, 2021Halloween Kills($49 million) and 2022’sHalloween Ends($40 million).

Director Emma Tammi Wants to Return for a Sequel
EmmaTammi, who began her career with documentary films like 2014’sFair ChaseandElection Day: Lens Across Americain 2017 before directing the supernatural horror filmThe Windin 2018 talked about her desire to go for a sequel of her recent hitFive Nights at Freddy’s.
While speaking of sequels in a chat withVariety, the filmmaker expressed her wish to get Mark Fischbach, mostly known as Markiplier in her sequel. Markiplier was supposed to feature in the film but he could not due to a scheduling conflict. She said:

“Absolutely, Mark is a part of this franchise through and through. We reached out and we all hoped to make it work. Unfortunately we were filming at the same time Markiplier was filming his film, and the scheduling didn’t work out for this one. But we would love to include him moving forward.”
“We’re definitely excited to keep making more movies in this world, should we be lucky enough to do that,” she said, adding, “This one was tied into the first game, and we would probably focus on tying the second one into the second game, and so on and so forth. But anything could happen. We’ll have to see.”

“I’d love to not shut down anyone’s theories. We have some loose ends that I think are going to have to come back in a sequel to be tied up,”she said while speaking withThe Hollywood Reporter.
The film is produced by Blumhouse Productions and distributed by Universal Pictures.

The horror flick reportedly opened with $80 million domestically and $52.6 million internationally for a global debut of $132.6 million and ties with Marvel Studios’Black Widow(2021) for the biggest opening for a day-and-date offering.
The movie is based on a point-and-click survival game of the same name developed by Scott Cawthon in 2014.
Five Nights At Freddy’sis now playing in theaters and is also streaming on Peacock.
