She-Hulk: Attorney at Lawrevolves around Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters, a lawyer turned green superhero She-Hulk. The season finale ends with Walters breaking the fourth wall and walking into Marvel Studios headquarters to confront who controls her fate. This is when she meets a super-intelligent robot named K.E.V.I.N. (Knowledge Enhanced Visual Interactivity Nexus). While Marvel boss, Kevin Feige had no issues with series writer, Jessica Gao replacing him with a robot, he had one issue of how his robot was gonna look in the series.

Given that a new superhero joined the MCU, it surely was highly anticipated and garnered a positive response from critics, especially for the lead star’s performance. However, a special cameo of Kevin Feige made things more exciting but he did not like a specific aspect.

In the series finale,Tatiana Maslany‘s She-Hulk pauses her ongoing battle to break the fourth wall and locates her show’s production office. There, she called out the writers in the room to confess how bizarre the ending is and asked it to be rewritten.

There, a writer explained,
“This is the story that Kevin wants.”

After going through Kevin’s security, she enters a secure room where she meets a red and white robot with a distinct baseball cap-shaped name K.E.V.I.N which is the one calling the shots.
According to the all-tell memoir,MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios,Kevin Feigehad no issues in getting replaced with a robot in the series,She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.However, he objected when head writer Jessica Gao wanted to put K.E.V.I.N a baseball hat on top of the robot.

He didn’t agree with the idea as he shared,
“Well, that doesn’t make a lick of sense. Why would a robot wear a hat?”
After explaining her point, the robot eventually agrees to change the creative direction of the series finale. However, this cameo was possible only because Feige agreed to it.

The series writer addressed the speculations about Feige’s appearance in the show stating how surprising it turned out to be for everyone. She toldMarvel.com,
“It’s funny because I’ve seen a lot of online chatter of people speculating that [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige is going to make a cameo in the show”adding.“But I can’t imagine this is how they thought that the cameo would happen!”
She even talked about writing several versions of the series finale before she wrote the one that we all witnessed.
“I think I probably wrote like, 20 versions of a finale that went all over the place and I started feeling like, ‘Well, this is a Marvel show, I better give them the classic Marvel ending,’”Gao continued.“Big villain fight, big finale. But it never felt right because I was trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.”
She further shared that the real MCU boss helped Gao in ideating the ending for the show and even agreed to have his cameo as an AI in it.
